This year’s Equitana was our best yet with a prime position just inside the Epsom Pavilion door attracting lots of attention although ‘Zebby’ the zebra probably had some influence there too 🙂
By the end of the second day we’d sold out of Slowfeed haynets (Haysaver and Greedy Steed) even though we’d taken twice as many nets!  Just goes to show the awareness of slow feeding has increased no doubt aided by the need to save hay with drought conditions in some states.
It was wonderful to have previous LightRider Bitless Bridle buyers drop by to thank us for producing a product that has made a huge difference for their horses. And lovely to help so many more people choose the best bitless option and give advice on how to transition to a more humane way of riding.
With over 45,000 attending, it was such a busy time for us, we didn’t get to see any of the events or educators, but from feedback we heard, there seemed to many wanting to see more alternative and inspirational presentations in the future. Perhaps some Horse Agility at a high level, liberty displays or even a liberty competition, bitless riding displays and more horsemanship with positive reinforcement used. The best way to let the organisers know your preferences is to complete this event survey.Â
And while Equitana is now going back to it’s bi-annual format in Melbourne, it was announced that a new Equine Lifestyle Festival will be run at the Hawksbury Showgrounds in NSW from November the 13-15th, 2015. The format will be similar to New Zealand’s largest equine event – the Horse of the Year Show with elements of the equine lifestyle and horse ownership supported by gourmet food, wine and agricultural life surrounding the equestrian competition core. Perhaps we’ll see you there.

Special thanks to all who helped make Equitana a huge success for Natural Horse World: my mum – Marian, Grace Heather, Dori Jennings, Kim Barker and Wrangler Jayne. And a big thanks to all those who purchased our products to make life better for your horses.
And a big Congratulations to our $100 product voucher winner: Clare McKechnie of Leichardt Gypsy Cobs from Victoria.
