The LightRider Western bitless bridle features:

  • Stainless steel hardware for strength and longevity.
  • Padded noseband offers more comfort.
  • The noseband sits higher like a cavesson so doesn’t need to be tight, allowing the horses to eat and drink easily.
  • Multi-purpose for leading/lunging or the connector strap can be removed for ridden show classes. Also a great option for showing in lead line classes.
  • DO NOT USE FOR TYING UP – like all leather bridles, it will break if tied solid (even to baling twine).

Unique Chinstrap: The soft webbing chin strap keeps the noseband from twisting to give clear and direct communication.
This means you can use lighter rein aids. When rein pressure is applied the chinstrap becomes snug but does not over-tighten due to the bend of the webbing used.

90% of the pressure is on top of the nose, and the horse can self-release the chinstrap easily for eating, yawning etc.

The bridle can also be used as a sidepull by clipping the chinstrap and noseband rings together (recommended to start with if your horse hasn’t experienced a chinstrap before). Learn more about the use of the chinstrap here.

Check the sizing guide to ensure you have the right size for your horse.  (exchanges are welcome but shipping is expensive!).

This bridle does not include reins so you can choose from the selection of LightRider Reins available here or use reins you already love.

I recommend you use scissor rein clips for easy change over to the leading ring which enables groundwork/leading/lunging or buy LightRider Reins that include rein clips to match.

Take advantage of the FREE email photo consultation to check the bridle fit and sizing for your horse within the 30-day return period (from date of receiving). Simply email your photos of the head side-on from both sides.

This is the second bridle we have got, this one is for our OTT new horse, had never been ridden bitless before, he took to this without issue, the quality is great,
    Would recommend it to all.

Order the Light Rider Bridle, arrived in about 10 days which was good as we live in Auckland NZ. Because we have a solid gisborne breed boy, he is not to tall at 15hh but he is solid so he can swing between cob and hack sizing. Got the cob size but it was very slightly too small. No problem exchanging and had the hack size very quickly. This company is very easy to deal with and the bridle itself is off high quality fittings and the leather is beautifully soft. Absolutely love it, well worth buying for the comfort of the horse with no nasty bits!!!! Recommend 100%

I have used the LightRider Bitless Bridle for years. I purchased one for my Arab 13 years ago. I ordered the nose pieces to convert my other bridles to bitless. I rescued my mare, Dolly, 2 years ago. I had other bitless bridles but she didn’t do very well. She seems to really feel comfortable in my older LightRider so I purchased a new one for her.

Have actually started riding my QH with no headgear at all in the arena but this bridle is perfect for trails.

Beautiful bridle. Love the western style and couldn’t go past this one when researching. Have previously purchased and use the rope one on my pony.

I’m very happy with the new western bitless bridle. It fits comfortably on my horse, is easy to slip on and looks good. I find all the Lightrider bitless bridles kind and effective on my horses.

A little disappointed as the bridle in the picture shown on site has reins on the bridle then when you check on it to order shows different picture but doesn’t state does not come with reins. When I received them there was no reins so now i have to purchase reins for the two bridles i bought which is an extra cost.
Store Owners reply: Buyer needs to read the the product description as it says: ‘This bridle does not include reins as it allows you to use your own reins or choose from the selection of LightRider Reins available here.’

Another Beautiful product. I have used the Rope Performer and loved it but now have a rehabilitated Mare who needs a more "firmer" contact. This Bridle is absolutely perfect, it stays put and the collection and gaits I am getting on this Green Mare are much more consistent and I have a much happier girl, which of course means I AM HAPPIER!!! My neighbour has already ordered her own. Love your products Cynthia x

I am very impressed with the quality of this bitless bridle. I used it for the first time this morning and my mare behaved much the same as she does using a bit. She has never liked accepting a bit so it was very easy bridling her with this product. Even though it was something new to her, I felt she was accepting it rather well.

I recently purchased an english leather bridle from Cynthia for my QH gelding(prior to that, I rode him in the rope lightrider). Leo is higly responsive in this bridle and has now mastered the ROLLBACK! I love seeing the look on the bitted horses riders when I show them up in the "camp" all without a bit!!!

I received my bridle a couple of days ago. Let me say before I go any further that I am extremely impressed with the quality of this bridle!
Very well made. Substantial and it is very attractive. I got the western style.
I got my first chance to try it this morning. I had a couple problems with my TWH using the crossunder bitless bridle.

First Feather, would get very bracy at times would just kind of get a bit catatonic for a few moments. He would go fine at times and be very responsive but, when he decided he didn’t want to do something he would just brace through it all.
I have been trying to get a nice light neck rein on him for quite awhile.
So I have been looking for a different alternative. I came across your bridle and thought maybe this was just the answer for Feather, and I. It works on a totally different concept. Well it is just what we have needed!!

We went for a short ride this morning and Feather never braced with me. He just neck reined beautifully. Never pulled on me or tried to push through the pressure, I guess actually because his head wasn’t wrapped in pressure! He also had a very nice whoa.
We want to thank you for designing this great product! I was never going to ride in a bit again period so am very happy to find this alternative.
Let me add a note about the crossunder bridle. I had two other big powerful horses that I put in that bridle and they did great. So maybe it just isn’t made for every horse. I’d like to think how they might have done in your bridle………..

We dearly love this bridle. Thanks again for creating this wonderful bridle for all of us.
