Peppermint Oil Tips for Horses:
Make sure you test any essential oil before using it on your horse. If your horse refuses to sniff it, do not apply it.
If they seem attracted and like to sniff it, here are some ideas for using it.
- Add one or two drops to a cup of Epsom salts in a bucket of water and sponge the horse for a cooling effect.
- Add to your homemade fly spray to deter flies.
Common uses: Peppermint essential oil has been known to help relieve symptoms of headaches and migraines when used on a cold compress and applied to the temples.
