Equitana wrap-up, and Christmas is here!

Cynthia, Marian and Grace with 'Zebby' who was a real attraction.

Once again Equitana Sydney was a success for our booth with many customers taking home the LightRider Bitless bridlesBest Bareback padsSlowfeed Haysaver nets, and many more ‘horse endorsed’ products.
This was due to all the hard work by Mum (Marian) and Grace from Equibility, along with the help of Jackie from Brookby Herbs.

Crowds gathered outside our booth to watch an impromptu hoof trimming demo by Jeremy of Wild About Hooves, and to talk with Carol Layton after their packed classroom sessions.

It was wonderful to see so many people choosing a bitless bridle for their horse who I’m sure will appreciate their compassion and good sense, especially if the choose to join Bitlessinc. to get very affordable insurance that will cover them for all of their bitless, bridleless and liberty equine activities. This new initiative was promoted by Karri who has set up the incorporated body to help the acceptance of choice while riding and competing with a bitless bridle.

Daphne, Editor of the new Equine Naturally Magazine proudly presents the first issue.

Another new launch was that of the Equine Naturally magazine – dedicated to all things alternative for real horse lovers in Australia. This bi-monthly magazine is available in most newsagencies that stock the sister magazine, Equine Excellence.

Highlights from my time away were visiting Wrangler Jayne on the way to Equitana, finding the ‘Rat Barrow’ and shopping at Equitana, then visiting Glen and Kelly at Waterfall Creek on the way home and seeing their truck converted to travel horses facing backwards. It was 2 years ago we talked about the idea after I’d seen how well Suzanne’s horses travelled backwards in her converted float. As we were on a private road, we could ride in the truck and see how the horses felt about travelling that way – very smoothly and without fuss I can report. Glenn offers one of the few (perhaps only) Float Safe Driver Training program.

Travelling backwards is very comfortable as it allows horses to brace with their stronger hindquarters.

It was wonderful to come back to ‘Serenity’ and be with my horses and animal family to relish in the peace, and recover from the huge effort of packing, travelling and un-packing stock. Thanks so much to Iluwka and Vanessa for holding the fort and getting orders out while I was away.

Now Christmas is approaching fast, and I’m busy fulfilling and shipping orders, while also preparing for my Timberworld cabin and Rainbow shed to arrive very soon. It will be wonderful to have the possibility of spending Christmas in my new home, even if it means camping in the partially completed cabin!
It truly is a blessing for me to make my living from home, providing products that help horses and people have a better life together, and I give thanks for your support during 2013. Wishing you all a very Happy Holiday Season and a great start to 2014.
Cheers – Cynthia.
