Natural Horse World

Moving Matters

Following on from my last news on  moving my home and business to the Tasman Peninsula, I’m now well and truly in the midst of packing, selling things and taking loads to Saltwater River.

The 14 horses are all going on 2 trucks this weekend, followed by the caravan and a float load of horse feed stuff. It’s a big job organizing everything and making sure all vehicles are roadworthy for the 5 hour drive.

It’s almost impossible to prepare horses for a long trip like this, and I hope they cope with 6 hours on the truck if they have bellies full of hay before leaving. Everyone has been wormed and I’ve worked out where each horse (and mule) will go on the truck so they’re all happy. It looks like we’ll even have good weather until at least the day after they arrive.

After christening the land with my first night’s stay, I’ll have a week to pack up the house and business with the final move taking place by the 26th of this month.

This means posting online store orders will be delayed between the 22nd and the 30th of July as we get the business working from the shipping container. With no power it will be challenging,  so please be patient if you purchase between those dates.

If there’s anything you wanted from the Online Store, it’s best to do that before the 19th of July if you want it shipped immediately.

I’m very excited about setting up this new property and hope it will eventually be a good example of a central track system – a nice combination that I think will work well for the horses and for me. I will keep you posted on our progress.
