What does it take to grow the very best hooves an individual horse can possibly grow? Is it some magical trim, a supplement, or some newfangled shoeing package? The answers are far-reaching and involve every aspect of the horse’s life.
Can laminitis and caudal foot pain be cured? Prevented? Can hoof form and internal development protect the horse from injury throughout the body?
This dream-team of authors has joined forces to provide some of the answers. Together they have detailed countless aspects of the veterinary care and treatment, hoof maintenance, internal development, nutrition, biomechanics, property management and husbandry needed to optimize the equine hoof and to treat many of the problems common to horses everywhere. Read the full outline here.

Why Is The Horse Industry One Of the Slowest To Change?

Look at the other sporting goods industries and see how fast they are changing. Mountain bikes change every year and we are now seeing carbon frames, carbon wheels and complete bikes that weigh less than 20 lbs.

Look at downhill skiing and the technology in shaped skis, boots and bindings. They get better and better every year. Look at something very gear free like swimming and the advancements in low drag swim suits changes yearly. Look at golf. Golf club technology is new and improved every year. You blink in these industries and you get left behind. Compare these industries to the equine industry and the fact that the majority of our equine partners are still competing in iron shoes and saddles that haven’t changed in decades. Read more here…
